Dear Calvary Family,
" 'Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call His name Immanuel, (which means, God with us)." ..."The Word came in human form and made His home among us." (Matt. 1:23, John 1:14 NLT)
More than all the festive decorations, beautifully-wrapped packages, and yes, even in the harder emotions of sadness and loneliness that often surface at this time of year, Christmas reminds us that God keeps His promises. As the prophets foretold, Jesus would be born to save us from our heartaches, our sorrows, our sin. With His arrival in Bethlehem, we've been given a living hope - because of Christmas we can have comfort and joy! Because of Jesus, we not only have the promise of eternal life, but, as well, the assurance that peace of heart and mind can be ours every single day, regardless of the circumstance we find ourselves in!
We pray this "good news of great joy" will fill your hearts throughout this Christmas season, and that the unspeakable blessing of His presence will sustain you now and throughout the coming New Year!
How closely we hold you to our hearts this time of year!
You are so dearly loved!
Merry Christmas,
Pastor John and Robin
